Event Production and Leadership · SLU Art Fest
Planned and managed the first-ever MMA program art exhibition, bringing the program to the wider SLU community in a two-day event.
The MMA program had no public presence on campus. Students from other programs did not know what MMA was or what the program produced, so the exhibit needed to be engaging and loud enough to introduce the program to a diverse audience.
Started with the concept, built around the art fest theme, and aligned with the school branding. The venue was set at the Silang Lobby in SLU Main Campus, a high-traffic area. With no budget allotted, everything was funded out of pocket, and the team worked with the resources we already had.
The event needed a hook to keep people from walking through the lobby. That became Navi, the SLU school mascot, which the team turned into the face of the exhibition. Using a familiar campus symbol made the exhibit instantly recognizable and welcoming to students from other colleges.
With no budget, the team had to be resourceful. Instead of scaling down, they focused on making the exhibit loud and engaging enough to draw attention on its own. Works were curated across year levels and across mediums to show the full range of the program, and the layout
Built from the art fest theme and matched to the school branding
Displayed magazines, traditional artworks, digital artworks, posters, animations, music videos, brochures, and branding decks from 1st-year to 3rd-year students
Used Navi, the SLU school mascot, as the visual anchor of the exhibit
Managed event flow, coordinated 25 team members, and oversaw planning, implementation, and overall management
Two-day exhibition
The exhibition drew a massive and diverse audience of students from different courses, with more than 100 students passing through per hour. It attracted MMA students from other campuses and even students from the School of Medicine, and received positive feedback and compliments from attendees.
