Wrote, modeled, and animated a 5-minute 3D film about a coffee shop that hides a secret detective agency.
The team needed to introduce a full game world and its mystery hook in a 5-minute animated film, building characters, environment, mood, and stakes from scratch in Blender.
Started with the story, then moved to storyboards. Reused and expanded the character designs from the earlier Mori no Yuujou game project, a world where animals turn semi-human, and studied reference boards for 3D style (Modern, Vibrant, Highly Graphic), plus cafe exteriors and noir interiors.
Rather than build something new, the team chose to expand the world they already loved. That decision gave the film emotional weight because the characters already had history. The coffee-shop-by-day and undercover-by-night concept lets the mood shift naturally from warm daylight scenes to a noir crime board at night.
Rendered in the viewport instead of full renders to save time, but refused to limit the scope. The team modeled more characters, props, and environment detail than the brief required because the project was genuinely fun. Honey became the visual throughline: sweet cafe warmth in the day, sharp undercover work at night.
